|Woodturner George Foweraker in the workshop|
Rarely turning exotic timbers, George wants to be certain that the wood he uses are taken from a sustainable source, and favours native timbers obtained locally, such as those available through Turner's Cabin woodturning blank's page.
Inspiration for George's work comes from many sources and he now enjoys experimenting with colour, texture and form to produce mainly aesthetic works, which he sells through direct commissions and galleries.
George is a member of the Register of Professional Turners, The Association of Woodturners of Great Britain, The Pembrokeshire Woodturners and recently been invited to join the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen as well as being a founding member of the Burnham on Sea Woodturning Club. He is currently the author of articles as well as being featured within woodworking magazines within the UK.
George displays and sells his work via private appointment, The Somerset Guild of Craftsmen, John Reed Galleries, Burnham-On-Sea, his latest outlet Somerset Crafts and other related outlets. He also offers tuition from his substantial and very well equipped workshop in Burnham on sea.
Why not go for a days tuition and learn about bowl, spindle and hollow form turning? Full details on his website Artistry in Wood.
